A.R.C. provides recycling services to the significant majority of businesses and State services in and around the Aberystwyth area, including the Local Authority, hospitals and schools. The services offered ensure that a significant amount of recyclable materials - paper, glass, card, metal and textiles - are diverted from the commercial and domestic waste stream into useful resources.
We provide a free and easy drop off point where your recyclable materials can be left during office hours.
Please visit our Recyclables page to find out what materials we are able to take for recycling.
For the community, we also provide a number of recycling points in and around the Aberystwyth area.
Whether you are a business or domestic client, we can arrange to collect paper, cardboard, glass, fabrics and textiles on a daily, weekly or monthly basis. Or you can simply contact us as and when the need arises.
Our drivers are out every weekday from 9am-4pm. To discuss your needs, please do not hesitate to contact the office.
Deter - Detect - Defend
Many companies legitimately collect personal information from their customers: names, addresses, and phone numbers; bank and credit card account numbers; income and credit histories; and Social Security numbers, etc.

However, it is almost commonplace to see news items relating to this kind of information being lost through break-ins, lost or stolen CDs or computers, hacked web sites or company networks, etc. Less well known, but just as worrying, is the fact that identity thieves can use the paper waste disposed of by businesses to find and steal the same information.
Careless disposal of personal data is being used by the thieves for their own financial gain, and it can be traded on the Internet to make more money and cause more misery.
Identity theft is a growing problem for businesses and individuals alike. Here are some statistics:

Data security is an important issue with very real risks to businesses and individuals.
As a business, you have a responsibility to keep information secure: whether you are storing it, or disposing of it.
A.R.C offer a complete and confidential shredding service:
Clients are provided with secure 15 kilo confidential and uniquely tagged bags which can be collected from your premises or brought direct to us. We also have facilities to process large volumes of secure paper waste, which can be costed by the tonne.
Clients include: Ceredigion County Council, Bronglais Hospital, The National Assembly of Wales, U.C.W. and a large number of solicitors practices, doctors surgeries accountants and individuals.
Whether you are moving home, storing unused items in your garage, or sending large items in the post, we can provide you with a suitable size box.
We have a range of flat-packed boxes readily available, or shall try to source containers for your specific requirements.
Our boxes are uniformly sized in order to facilitate easier stacking.
If you are looking to clear your premises, you will already know how much it now costs to hire a skip.
Here is a more environmentally friendly and cost-effective solution:
We will send a vehicle and personnel to your property to clear the premises.
We will sort the contents of your property to ensure that as much as can be is either recycled or put back into circulation for re-use. In this way, you only pay for our labour and the cost of disposing of the material that cannot be put to better use.
This service is significantly cheaper than hiring a skip. Ask us for a quote.
Using the paper products that we collect from our business customers, we produce bedding for large and small animals.
For larger animals such as horses and goats, we process newspaper to produce soft, dry and absorbent bedding.
Unlike straw, which takes nitrogen from the soil in order to break it down, paper bedding actually adds nitrogen as it breaks down. Moreover, paper bedding is fully compostable within just 6-8 weeks.
Our bedding comes in returnable 20 kilo bags which can be collected from us or delivered directly to your premises.
For smaller pets, such as hamsters, rats and gerbils, we use office paper, which enables them to produce nests more easily. We make a small charge for this material.

Over the years, A.R.C. has provided talks and visits to many small groups, from school children to college students and adult groups.
We are keen to do our best to help people understand the problems and issues related to the environment and recycling. For this reason, our web site contains a wide range of links to aid research and increase awareness.
However, a factory floor containing waste materials, heavy machinery and fork-lift trucks is quite a hazardous one. For this reason, we are severely limited in what we can now do.
Whilst we cannot answer queries from individuals, we are pleased to help where we can. Please contact us.
