Our Aims
For the Environment:
To work nationally and locally in order to promote sustainable use of the Earth's resources. To provide a premise for, and play an active role in environmental and development campaigns.
For Recycling:
To promote all aspects of recycling, to the public, to businesses and industry and to local and national government, providing the informed voice and the network to meet legislative targets for recycling in the new millenium.
For Growth:
To increase the throughput of collected recyclables through the factory and expand the material types catered for. To expand the collection service as far afield as finances allow.
Within the Community:
To continue encouraging and advising on the collection of recyclables, making payments directly to local groups as part of fund-raising campaigns. To develop the paper scrap store, which currently supplies local playgroups and schools with drawing paper and modelling materials.
In Education:
To expand the current educational programme, which includes factory visits, teachers' files and a simple presentation to provide a comprehensive educational package which can be presented within the school environment, possibly through the medium of theatre.
For Information:
To continue to provide information to the public, businesses and industry regarding environmentally conscious waste disposal, re-use and purchases.
At the Factory:
To establish a disposal point to which the public and businesses can bring unwanted items for re-use or recycling, including the 'white goods' (e.g. washing machines) waste oil as well as waste paper, food cans and other household recyclables.
